What Is Ruqyah And How To Do Ruqyah

Islam teaches Us a comprehensive way of life, covering various aspects including faith, morality, social justice, and personal conduct. Here are some fundamental teachings of Islam

Ruqyah is an Islamic healing practice that involves the recitation of specific verses from the Quran and supplications for the purpose of seeking protection or healing from ailments, both physical and spiritual. It is believed to be a means of seeking refuge in Allah and invoking His blessings for the well-being of an individual. Ruqyah is deeply rooted in Islamic tradition, and it is often used to address various issues, including illness, possession, or the evil eye.

Pure Intentions:

Begin with a sincere intention (niyyah) to seek healing and protection solely from Allah.

Recitation of Quranic Verses:

Recite specific verses from the Quran that are known for their healing properties. Commonly recited chapters include Surah Al-Fatihah, Surah Al-Baqarah, Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq, and Surah An-Nas.

Blowing and Wiping:

After reciting the verses, blow lightly onto your hands and then wipe them over the affected area of the body. This is done with the belief that the recitation has healing properties.

Seeking Refuge in Allah:

Repeat the phrase "A'udhu billahi min ash-shaytan ir-rajim" (I seek refuge with Allah from the accursed devil) before and after the recitation.

Supplications (Dua):

Along with the Quranic verses, one can also make specific supplications for healing, protection, and well-being. Personalized prayers expressing one's needs and seeking Allah's help are encouraged.

Consistency:

It is often recommended to perform Ruqyah regularly, and over a consistent period, depending on the nature and severity of the issue being addressed.

Recitation by Others:

In some cases, individuals may seek the assistance of someone else to perform Ruqyah for them, especially if they are unable to do it themselves. This could be a qualified Islamic healer or a knowledgeable person with experience in Ruqyah.

The Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: One who was devoted to the Qur’an will be told to recite, ascend and recite carefully as he recited carefully when he was in the world, for he will reach his abode when he comes to the last verse he recites.
